ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥
धनासरी महला ३ ॥
Ḏẖanāsrī mėhlā 3.
Dhanaasaree, Third Mehl:
ਕਾਚਾ ਧਨੁ ਸੰਚਹਿ ਮੂਰਖ ਗਾਵਾਰ ॥
काचा धनु संचहि मूरख गावार ॥
Kācẖā ḏẖan saʼncẖėh mūrakẖ gāvār.
The ignorant fools amass false wealth.
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਭੂਲੇ ਅੰਧ ਗਾਵਾਰ ॥
मनमुख भूले अंध गावार ॥
Manmukẖ bẖūle anḏẖ gāvār.
The blind, foolish, self-willed manmukhs have gone astray.
ਬਿਖਿਆ ਕੈ ਧਨਿ ਸਦਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
बिखिआ कै धनि सदा दुखु होइ ॥
Bikẖi ā kai ḏẖan saḏā ḏukẖ hoe.
Poisonous wealth brings constant pain.
ਨਾ ਸਾਥਿ ਜਾਇ ਨ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥
ना साथि जाइ न परापति होइ ॥१॥
Nā sāth jā e na parāpaṯ hoe. ||1||
It will not go with you, and it will not yield any profit. ||1||
ਸਾਚਾ ਧਨੁ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਪਾਏ ॥
साचा धनु गुरमती पाए ॥
Sācẖā ḏẖan gurmaṯī pāe.
True wealth is obtained through the Guru’s Teachings.
ਕਾਚਾ ਧਨੁ ਫੁਨਿ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਏ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
काचा धनु फुनि आवै जाए ॥ रहाउ ॥
Kācẖā ḏẖan fun āvai jāe. Rahāo.
False wealth continues coming and going. ||Pause||
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਭੂਲੇ ਸਭਿ ਮਰਹਿ ਗਵਾਰ ॥
मनमुखि भूले सभि मरहि गवार ॥
Manmukẖ bẖūle sabẖ marėh gavār.
The foolish self-willed manmukhs all go astray and die.
ਭਵਜਲਿ ਡੂਬੇ ਨ ਉਰਵਾਰਿ ਨ ਪਾਰਿ ॥
भवजलि डूबे न उरवारि न पारि ॥
Bẖavjal dūbe na urvār na pār.
They drown in the terrifying world-ocean, and they cannot reach either this shore, or the one beyond.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟੇ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ॥
सतिगुरु भेटे पूरै भागि ॥
Saṯgur bẖete pūrai bẖāg.
But by perfect destiny, they meet the True Guru;
ਸਾਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਬੈਰਾਗਿ ॥੨॥
साचि रते अहिनिसि बैरागि ॥२॥
Sācẖ raṯe ahinis bairāg. ||2||
imbued with the True Name, day and night, they remain detached from the world. ||2||
ਚਹੁ ਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
चहु जुग महि अम्रितु साची बाणी ॥
Cẖahu jug mėh amriṯ sācẖī baṇī.
Throughout the four ages, the True Bani of His Word is Ambrosial Nectar.
ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥
पूरै भागि हरि नामि समाणी ॥
Pūrai bẖāg har nām samāṇī.
By perfect destiny, one is absorbed in the True Name.
ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਤਰਸਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਲੋਇ ॥
सिध साधिक तरसहि सभि लोइ ॥
Siḏẖ sāḏẖik ṯarsėh sabẖ loe.
The Siddhas, the seekers and all men long for the Name.
ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥
पूरै भागि परापति होइ ॥३॥
Pūrai bẖāg parāpaṯ hoe. ||3||
It is obtained only by perfect destiny. ||3||
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਚਾ ਹੈ ਸੋਇ ॥
सभु किछु साचा साचा है सोइ ॥
Sabẖ kicẖẖ sācẖā sācẖā hai soe.
The True Lord is everything; He is True.
ਊਤਮ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
ऊतम ब्रहमु पछाणै कोइ ॥
Ūṯam barahm pacẖẖāṇai koe.
Only a few realize the exalted Lord God.
ਸਚੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਚੁ ਆਪਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ॥
सचु साचा सचु आपि द्रिड़ाए ॥
Sacẖ sācẖā sacẖ āp driṛāe.
He is the Truest of the True; He Himself implants the True Name within.
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪੇ ਵੇਖੈ ਆਪੇ ਸਚਿ ਲਾਏ ॥੪॥੭॥
नानक आपे वेखै आपे सचि लाए ॥४॥७॥
Nānak āpe vekẖai āpe sacẖ lāe. ||4||7||
O Nanak, the Lord Himself sees all; He Himself links us to the Truth. ||4||7||
